This last week I had the privilege of spending time down under in the land of AUS. During the short one-week stay, it was a pleasure to visit the small community of Port Stephens, Sydney & Brisbane. The highlight of the week was in Brisbane at the Lone…read more…

Holidays begin! There is nothing better than free holidays, well almost free! Last September my wife had won a free trip on the Reunification Express from Vamcouverisawesome.com. The prize pack came complete with an 11 day tour from Geckos, flights from the Adventure Centre and a prize pack from Arcteryx! I have to say I personally think the Arcteryx pack is probably the coolest! My wife is now sporting an awesome purple light weight rain shell and also a super cool travel pack! I will post pictures later for you!!! (note: prize was for her, I paid so I could tag along!)

We are really excited about this trip as we have been to Vietnam once before together about 7 years ago where we spent most of our time in the North. The reunification express will take us by train from Hanoi to Hue, Hoi Anh, Nha Trang and ten finally Ho Chi Minh City. At the end of the tour we will spend a few days back in Nha Trang enjoying some beach time!

I am happy we will also have some companions on this trip! My parents from Saskatchewan will be joing us on this adventure! None of us have ever done a planned tour so this will be a first! We are very keen to try this type of travel and to see if it fits our “travel style”.

Here’s to having a great well deserved holiday!

I’m feeling really happy today! Mom and dad had spent last night at Calgary Airport due to their flight being cancelled from Calgary to Tokyo because of bad weather (Lightning, Thunder, etc.). – They got rebooked and luckily enough got moved from a Tango Fare to a Latitude Fare. I was able to use my Air Canada e-Upgrade credits to get them an upgrade from Calgary (YYC) to Vancouver (YVR) to Hong Kong (HKG). This is pretty much their first time flying business class, so I am extremely excited and happy that they get to be blessed and have an incredible journey to Asia this afternoon. – Thank you Air Canada for treating me and my family so amazing. Your rewards program is brilliant and you have allowed us to Experience great things!

The real funny thing is that both Dad and I have known all day that they got bumped and we have been telling her she will have an emergency exit so she can enjoy a little extra leg room!  We have also been teasing her about sleeping on the plane and having mimosas and enjoying some port and cheese!

Also, a special thank you to Gayle from AC Concierge in Calgary for taking great care of my parents yesterday in Calgary as well as Gina from ACSE Desk for ensuring my parents got rebooked ASAP. I am looking forward to family vacation this upcoming weekend. I will see you on the party bus AC63 on Saturday!

Travel is always best when shared with others; some prefer to travel with a friend, their loved one or with their kids. I had a good chuckle this week while watching the April fools video ‘Kargokids’ by Westjet. As a frequent flyer, I can definitely…read more…

The Airplane is my time travel machine. A couple drinks followed by a few Melatonin tablets. Close your eyes and you have crosses great lands, passed by many cultures that are left still to explore.

Every time that I travel, I am always amazed that I am not in a dream. It just blows my mind that within 8.5 hours from Vancouver that I am in London town. Insane!

This upcoming week should be rather busy. I am in London for a couple days of meetings followed by a Football game on Saturday (Arsenal), after that I will jet off to Glasgow, Scotchland for a conference until Wednesday night before making my way back to Canada on Thursday evening. Should be good!

The UK is one place that I used to never like coming too, but after the 4th or 5th time, it grows on ya! Happy to be here this week, but going to miss my wife! Honey, I’ll be home for almost all of April!
